What Tempered Builds is

Tempered Builds is an independent roofing and gutter referral service. We connect homeowners in Los Angeles County with pre-screened licensed contractors. We are not a licensed contractor and do not perform any construction work. All roofing services are provided directly by our partner contractor, who holds an active California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) license. All contracts, payments, warranties, and project outcomes are between you and the licensed contractor.

By using this site you agree

That Tempered Builds is a referral service, not a construction contractor.
That contracts for roofing or gutter work are between you and the licensed contractor — not Tempered Builds.
That Tempered Builds does not handle project payments, collect deposits, or guarantee project outcomes.
That information you submit through our forms will be shared with a partner licensed contractor for the purpose of providing you a free estimate.
That you are 18 years of age or older and authorized to request services for the address you provide.

No contractor-client relationship with Tempered Builds

Tempered Builds does not provide construction services. No contractor-client relationship is created between you and Tempered Builds. The contractor we connect you with is an independent licensed business. Their work, contracts, scope, pricing, warranties, and liability are exclusively between you and them.

Our role and limitations

We screen contractors in our network for: active CSLB license (verified at cslb.ca.gov), general liability and workers compensation insurance, documented project history, and operating standards. We do not guarantee:

Specific project outcomes, timelines, or pricing.
The quality of work performed by partner contractors.
That a contractor will be available in your specific area or for your specific timeline.
Any specific insurance, tax, or financial outcome from your project.

How we make money

Tempered Builds receives a referral fee from our partner contractor for each homeowner we connect. We do not charge homeowners. We are not paid based on whether you sign a contract — only on whether we connected you to the contractor.

Accuracy of content

The information on this site (cost ranges, code summaries, insurance information) is educational. It is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the publication date, but laws, codes, insurance practices, and pricing change. Always verify current requirements with the relevant California state agency, your local building department, your insurer, or a licensed contractor before making decisions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tempered Builds is not liable for damages arising from your use of this site or services provided by partner contractors. This includes (but is not limited to) damages from construction defects, contract disputes, project delays, financial losses, or insurance claim outcomes.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes are subject to the courts of Los Angeles County, California.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
