What happens after you submit

Within 2 business hours we connect your request to a pre-screened licensed contractor in our network serving your ZIP. The contractor calls you directly to schedule an in-person inspection and free written estimate. You contract and pay the contractor directly — Tempered Builds is not part of the contract or the payment.

What to have ready

You do not need any of this to submit the form. But the contractor's first call goes faster if you have these on hand:

Your insurance situation — current carrier (or FAIR Plan), whether you have a non-renewal letter, and the deadline if any. This shapes material choice and timeline.
Approximate roof age and whether you know the existing material (asphalt shingle, clay tile, wood shake, etc.).
Your VHFHSZ status — check at egis.fire.ca.gov/FHSZ/ by typing your address. Determines whether Chapter 7A applies.
HOA / Historic District status — Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Beverly Hills, designated Pasadena districts all have additional review steps.
Your timing pressure — insurance deadline, planned home sale, rebuild milestone, or "researching for next year."

Hours and response times

We respond to quote requests submitted between 7am and 8pm Pacific within 2 business hours. Submissions outside those hours are routed first thing the next business morning. Saturday submissions get same-day callbacks when possible; Sunday submissions are handled Monday morning. There is no Tempered Builds emergency line — if you have a roof emergency (active leak, storm damage), please call a 24-hour LA roofing service directly rather than wait on our referral process.
